The sonoma county artist Carolyn Bloom paints primarily in two diverse mediums, oil and pastel. As a young child she was fortunate to be raised on a large farm in southern Michigan. From her early childhood she was exposed to the beauty and wonders of nature. Carolyn likes to say she started to draw from "the back of a horse". In 1970 she received her BFA degree from the University of Michigan with a major in painting (oil,acrylic) and minors in watercolor, and art history. She has been painting and exploring many aspects of art ever since.
